IgnimDigs (album): Huldra - Signals From the Void

As my first post on this glorious haven of music elitism, I shall introduce IgnimDigs. IgnimDigs is a feature than does not really count as a feature because it's basically an excuse for me to post any song, band, or album that I happen to be digging at a whim. -
- The first IgnimDig is an album called Signals From the Void by a little-known band called Huldra. Digging through Bandcamp pages certainly can be tedious, and you will without a doubt find a ton of abysmal music, but every now and then you make a find that really sticks out and Huldra is one of those finds. At this point (this is their debut album), they are basically a carbon copy of Isis with the pleasant flourish of some extremely pretty added piano accompaniments. It's post-metal (I'm a major sucker for the genre), and it comes with all of the genre's tenets: shimmering leads, massive builds, monstrous climaxes, ambient interludes, beautiful atmospheres, and the like. Huldra also manages to pull off this formula better than 95% of similar bands, and for this reason (and the fact that they've posted the album for free on their Bandcamp) I highly recommend Signals From the Void to both fans of the genre and those looking to explore it for the first time. Enjoy, and welcome to the blog. - - http://huldratheband.bandcamp.com/album/signals-from-the-void-ep

  4. Haha, thanks man. And this sounds like something I would enjoy. And your feature title is cool, I need to think of a better one than "Song of the Day" haha.

  5. Ok serious question, since I'm computer retarded, do you just have to post the link from the source when you wanna post the picture of the album cover?

  6. There should be an option on the "edit post" page that lets you simply paste the image link into a field.

  8. Wyankeif and his post-metal. I still haven't really heard anything from the genre aside from Neurosis and one Amenra album.
