THRASH 4 KILL FRIDAY PT.2/Exoto - Carnival of Souls (1994)

So metal I'm declaring today Friday pt. 2. Exoto were a death/thrash band from Belgium who wrote some infectious riffs and constructed some pretty killer songs. The vocals are very Jeff Walker-esque which is never a bad thing. Overall this is a pretty killer release and if you don't check it out, well, your loss.

EXHUME THE BELOVED

THRASH 4 KILL FRIDAY PT. 1/ Assorted Heap - Mindwaves (1992)

So I've decided to start a segment called 'Thrash 4 KILL Friday', where I'll be starting off each weekend posting various thrash/thrash based albums that will of course, riff hard and riff fast.

Mindwaves by Assorted Heap is one of my favorite thrash album; beefing up their sound to incorporate more elements from the then still fledgling death metal scene, Assorted Heap played a form of highly technical death/thrash that really emphasized the influence of the latter genre. Showing off fast and highly technical riffs mixed with great drumming, songs like "Mindwaves" display the band at their heaviest while tracks like "Holy Ground" reveal the band's keen sense of melody, an often hidden element that really compliments the songs whenever included. Despite its (relative) obscurity, Mindwaves is an incredibly solid piece of extreme metal and a serious must have for extreme metal fans.

NICE TO BEAT YOU
